CHICAGO —(RRB Press release April 19, 2017) The Federal Medicare program provides hospital and medical insurance protection for railroad retirement annuitants and their families, just as it does for social security beneficiaries.

CHICAGO — Employers and employees covered by the Railroad Retirement Act pay higher retirement taxes than those covered by the Social Security Act, so that railroad retirement benefits remain higher than social security benefits, especially for "career" employees who have 30 or more years of service.

Medicare Part B premiums remain the same in 2015 |

CHICAGO — The standard Medicare Part B monthly premium will be $104.90 in 2015, the same amount as in 2014.
Some beneficiaries will continue to pay higher premiums based on their modified adjusted gross income, but these amounts are also remaining the same as in 2014.
